Good morning.
I see there are a few of us enjoying the cold. It's 0* F here, but the sun is shining, the sky is blue, and there is no wind, so it's tolerable.

I'm not enjoying it... Just took my twins to their bus stop and nearly froze my tuckas off! Dang it is COLD!! AROUND 8• Here....

Hey there, I used to live in Port Henry. Now I live in coastal NC where we start layering and griping about the cold when it gets down to 40. Of course we also gripe about the heat all summer long. You can't win. I miss swimming in fresh water.

Anybody have experience hatching geese? I ordered goose eggs but need to know what humidity, temp, turning, etc I need.

I'm a bit south of the Lake now (closer to Saratoga) but used to live near Rouses Point when I was a kid. Know Port Henry well. 40 is t-shirt weather there. lol

I grew up in Woodstock and then moved to Port Henry and I remember that when it would get DOWN to 40 I would start stripping down to a tank top while working around the barn. Its funny how things change.

Do you have any Broodies? They are supposed to be the best. Otherwise a Brinse octagon would be you next best thing.

It seems like they are very sensitive to vibration so regular egg turners mess them up badly.

I have 2 broodies with eggs under them and one that wants to be broody but I. trying to make her wait. They're all silkies. (Big surprise) As big as goose eggs are, my guess is she'd only be able to set 1. I have 2 FI forced air bators and one LG still air.
