Anyone ship eggs to AK? what are the importation rules? I have a friend who wants eggs sent. I am NPIP but not sure of AK rules. I cant find my file for the states listings!!

nevermind! Got it!

Alaska:
*** POULTRY & HATCHING EGGS ***
Birds from the Exotic Newcastle Disease quarantined areas need an Alaskan permit number.

1. Poultry and hatching eggs imported into the state must be accompanied by a permit and a health certificate which includes certification that:
1. the flock from which the poultry or hatching eggs have originated tested negative for Pullorum and Typhoid disease;
2. the poultry or hatching eggs were produced in full compliance with the National Poultry Improvement Plan; and
3. the poultry or hatching eggs originated from flocks or areas not under state or federal restriction.
2. The applicable National Poultry Improvement Plan forms must accompany the shipment.

I have a NH roo that lives with my Dorkings and my CA Grey. When they range they also range with a Delaware roo. Since both of my broodies are first timers, they are getting home grown eggs. I went here http://kippenjungle.nl/kruising.htm...o/Co,Db:Db/Db&fgt=E:e^b/e^b,Co:Co/Co,Mo:mo/mo and played around and hoping that these mixes might produce Sex Link babies and this is what I think I found out:

Both the Del roo and the NH roo over the cuckoo CG will produce cuckoo boys and solid black girls. I should be able to tell within days. Hatched one boy already he had a head spot that would help.
NH roo over Dorking should produce red girls and yellow boys should be able to tell at hatch

Delaware roo over Dorking should produce well...a chick...the results were totally inconclusive. But this simplifies my world because I know now that I should keep my Dorkings with my NH.

I think there may be abundant operator error in my use of the chicken calculator but it sure was fun trying to figure what everyone would produce. I hope I gave it the right info b/c it would be so nice to get sex link babies so that I can market the girls as layers right away..looking forward to adding more California Greys for sure!

Those are the same rules for any State. We do not import and export to Alaska.

Woot! 1 broody Silkie on a turkey egg, 1 broody Silkie on 3 BLRW eggs, a broody EE on 3 FBCM and 4 BLRW, and a broody Turkey on 3 of her own eggs. Not to mention the 16 turkey eggs in bator one, the 9 CPG eggs in bator 2 and all the shipped eggs going into numbers 3 and 4. I foresee a problem in the immediate future.

Alaska:
Still, all States have the same requirement because of the Federal NPIP laws. We are all supposed to be NPIP to ship. Alaska is the same as California for those rules.
