Well my oldest son just called me to tell me that my second broody hen is hatching her chicks right now. He said there are 2 so far and she is mean!lol
Congrats!

Quote: I know Cabinet incubators can have eggs incubating above, and eggs hatching on the bottom. I can't imagine it would hurt the eggs too much - you don't know until you try! Especially if your dad said he did it successfully.

i am setting 10 eggs on saturday and 5 on sunday
Yay!

I set 14 Call Duck Eggs on 3/23
Is that your final number, or are you still adding more?

Eggs came today!

QUESTION: I only have room for 7 eggs in incubator, should and I found one elongated egg in the batch so far, should I keep that one or not? It just seems so thin and tall.

I set 7 duck eggs (Ancona & duclair) on 3/23. Candled all of them today and I can see small dots and little veins coming from them all. This is my first time hatching after 7 Ancona and Duclair ducks showed up in the creek behind my house. They were obviously pretty tame so I adopted them. The eggs I
set were collected from them. So excited to be apart
of this hatch-a-long!

And here's a pic if the incubator I made from a coiler!
