I will agree with others, good dog!
I am at high altitude, have actually considered getting an oxygen machine for the "nursery" LOL - for now just run a humidifier in there.

How are the eggs I sent doing up there?

Thanks im not so sure we couldnt maintain the temperture the first five days. Now its good but im worried we messed up development .
The plug really does need to be removed after the first week. What does your instruction manual say about the plug?

I am so sad...if none of my shipped ameraucana eggs hatch...I need to start over. I really want to bring more purebred to Maine.

So, I candled them all. All had veins. Saw embryos in some.

I also weighed them. The goal weight loss for this day was 23.348 and the actual weight loss was 23.3.

So far, so good. . .

Thought this was interesting,,, 3 days ago the veins in this call duck egg disintegrated into a cloudy mess. Embryo was still alive. Checked yesterday..embryo still alive. Today embryo still alive. WTHeck is keeping it alive? I know it will eventually succumb but this is strange.
How can you tell that it's still alive?
The embryo is on the opposite side of the egg. It's a 12 day old duck embryo, so good sized, and pulsing back and forth.
