My little three week old mix, the only one to hatch (Gold Comet x Brown Leghorn Rooster) is growing fast! I'm looking at the comb though and wondering if that one little chick who made it out of the whole batch is a cockerel. I suspect the other four from my most recent batch are also all boys.

Here is the Comet cross: (Three weeks old now, nearly four)

And here is the Black sex link I made by Cuckoo Marans x BL Roo
a head spot would be an indicator of a boy, I believe.

And here is the white leghorn x Brown Leghorn, who I am not sure about yet, but the wing feathers on the three remaining birds (including this one) all resemble the black sex link boy's wing feathers. The other two are EE x BL

I noticed someone mentioned yesterday that they also seemed to be hatching all boys. Maybe my temps are too high? This batch, I had one hatch late and die, and two more never hatched.
Hmmmm. I need to keep checking my temperatures.

Just to give you a bit of hope on those EE crosses - In my experience you CANNOT tell on EE's by wing feather sexing! Last year we tried that with some EE's since it seemed to work so well with BO's, but I had one chick I was SURE was a boy end up being a pullet, and another I thought was a pullet, became a handsome little roo! So don't give up til they start crowing! LOL!

Almost 8 weeks so another month or two to go. With my firstborn it stopped around 15

A few years ago a cat I had gave birth. The silly girl had 3 in one place and then moved and had the other 2. Well I moved her first three to her and she was a happy new momma. Then suddenly a few hours later she stopped mid groom and purr, jumped like someone had lit a fire on her tail and dashed to where she'd given birth to the first three and started looking around frantically. The ditz. She suddenly remembered she'd left some over there and I guess didn't realize somehow the three I had moved over at the beginning where the ones she forgot. I don't think I ever convinced her that she didn't lose three kittens. This is her and her litter:

"The end of support for Windows XP means that Microsoft will no longer push out bug fixes, security patches, or other critical updates for the 13-year-old operating system." From CNET

Worst case can happen on any system, if it's still supported they fix it. XP just won't be fixed anymore.
I have been replacing XP Computers for a couple of months. If possible, upgrade to Windows 7. Microsoft is giving XP users a free license to a program called laplink the works fairly well for moving the user.

You will have some time but should stop using XP for Financial transactions. Browser caches and history should be cleared too. That should be something yo do all the time on any computer though.

Well in just full of AMAZING news this morning! All 4 Ancona's have embryos. Both of the normal eggs have externally pipped. We went ahead a opened Opps's shell but don't see a bill so we put it back for now. And the 24 more Ancona's I ordered came in with 2 extras but one was busted. They will go in tomorrow and then I will pick up an unknown amount of an unknown kinds of eggs at the post office.
Ancona chickens or ducks?
