Well in just full of AMAZING news this morning! All 4 Ancona's have embryos. Both of the normal eggs have externally pipped. We went ahead a opened Opps's shell but don't see a bill so we put it back for now. And the 24 more Ancona's I ordered came in with 2 extras but one was busted. They will go in tomorrow and then I will pick up an unknown amount of an unknown kinds of eggs at the post office.

They were shipped from the same person as Luke and his brother that hatched last week.

Finished candling everything last night. Out of the 49 eggs set, 36 remain in the bator this morning. I'm pretty pleased with this ratio since they were shipped eggs. Developing eggs include 9 Khaki Campbell, 6 Black East Indies, 10 Calls, and 11 Bresse. Not included in the HAL, I have 85 Dorking and RIR in 2 other bators and 15 Isbar and 12 Rhodebar resting to be set tonight. Somebody stop me before I convert the basement and spare bedroom into coops! By the way, anyone have Red Bourbon turkey eggs? LOL

Wow! Great job with shipped eggs- how long do you typically let them settle?
And do you turn right away once they go in the bator?

But make it "garage into coops and spare bedroom into brooder". But since then I've been completely chicken free for about 2 months. But not by choice.
