2 things @Happy Chooks ....

if im not planning on hatching, can I still enter some of the contests? and im still part of the hatch.....im just not hatching so is it ok if im still on the hatch participants list you had put up?

To stagger hatch using only 1 bator for incubation, lockdown & hatch: keep humidity as low as possible for as long as possible. Raise humidity late day 19 or at first pip or peep. As soon as last chick hatches, pull chicks & shells (chicks can dry under brooder lamp as long as they have their feet under them), lower humidity until next batch. You can stop turning the younger batch of eggs during hatch, or if you feel you must turn, mist the lid of the bator with water to immediately jump humidity back up after turning as quickly as possible. Do not leave auto turners run during hatch. Babies can get stuck in them.
Thanks! I have an R-Com and put 4 eggs in a week after I already set my original 20..

I'm in. These Easter Hatch A Longs have been so much fun! Thank you all that are doing this for us.

Boy it takes me soo long trying to keep up with reading all the posts that I hardly have time to post myself. By the way I love reading everyone's post's. And good luck to each and everyone of you.

Well this is what I have been up to lately,:
I have going on in the Hatching world before the 29th of March

Going into lockdown Tomorrow the 4th with 9 chicken eggs

On the 8th lockdown on 5 Chicken eggs

On the 14th lockdown on 22 Chicken eggs

On the 19th lockdown on 23 Chicken eggs.

Numbers might change above as I need to candle each bunch before I lock them down though, you all know how that goes.

Then I have to get busy and gather up some eggs for the 29th set date for the Easter Hatch-A-Long Not sure but will probably have 42 eggs.
I am not at all obsessed.

We still have a long wait until set day let alone hatch day. Thought I would post a pic of this barnyard beauty that hatched this weekend lol

I usually only hatch a few barnyard mix a year for my layer flock but this year I have 3 incubators...so need to be careful and keep myself in check. lol. I find the mixes always have such interesting down colors. This one has a pale gray/blue with darker chipmunk stripes in the muted gray/blue. Then some yellow around the face.
ach du gut!!!

I would hug him and love him and call him george

Cuties!

You haven't seen nuthin' yet.
What?! There's more????

Love the name Snoodle!
Thank you! =)
DH named her after a VeggieTales character that couldn't fly. That sounds funny a vegetable character that can't fly. They did a parody of Dr. Suess and snoodles can fly, but "the little snoodle" which the story was about, couldn't until the end of the story.

Caleb is in NJ.

I cannot believe Im saying this...I'M IN!!!! Ive already got the bator running with CCls and Tolbunts so what the heck!!! My electric bill is going to sky rocket in my barn with the heating units for all these chicks!!
Im hatching my Cream Crested Legbars and Tolbunts...Oh and as many Olive egger eggs I can snag from my Blue marans over my CCL roo..

Ill donate 6+ cream crested legbar eggs includes shipping
