I was planning to shoot a pm to you to compare the bresse and the pintas. Getting a really good meat bird is tough to find. Ultimately any single combed bird will be crossed to change the comb to a pea or rose.
Your post is worth reading again and again-- SOmetimes I forget to put in the hydrometer thing-- I just don't need it. The eggs tell me to add water or not. I always start with dry wells.
THe eggs also tell me if the temps are off. THey know best. Of course just starting out it is worth buying a top quality thermometer. Mine only reads a whole number-- tenths would be welcomed.
I just picked up 4 easter eggers from the local cal ranch, I couldn't resist fuzzy butts
You're too smart; I'm glad you're on our side. lol
My bulb is 15w =)
But it's got to be incandescent. (Wow!!! I can't believe I spelled that right the first time!!!)![]()
Anyway, there are all kinds of laws going into effect already, now, soon, IDK about not manufacturing anymore incandescent bulbs in certain wattages and/or selling them, etc. IDK, but get what you can while you can, right?
