I am so jealous! Asparagus is my favorite..and soo expensive. I only get it when it goes on sale. Is it difficult to grow...or even possible in Pa.?

It grows like weeds in our ditch banks out here! If anyone wants any, they just go a pickin. I love it.
Glad yours is coming up Happy!

SOOOOO I may sell some of my hens eggs for this hatch! let me know if you would be interested if I sold any! id like to know what you all think!

Whew! Just finished reading through about 20 pages of posts in the past 24hrs since I was on here! Sounds like you all are having fun! LOVE the chick pictures!

We are also having a bit of a pre-Spring Thaw up here in Michigan - I am SO EXCITED to see the snow slowly receding!!!!

Hopefully the sap will start running in our Maple Trees soon - we have some more 40 degree days forecast for this week!

This is a picture of me about a year ago with one of our very first chickens, who is now 5 1/2 years old and still laying eggs! She is a little hatchery BO with the sweetest temperament, a very dedicated broody, and is affectionately known as "Lil' Girl".

I am hoping that maybe she or one of our other BO's will decide to go broody in time for the hatch-along, or at least in time to adopt the chicks I will start in the incubator...

I don't  I'm a nest box stalker. Rarely does an egg pop out that I'm not there to catch, lol! I do polish them with a paper towel, but the Marans eggs are ridiculously shiny on their own. If a streak does get on one, I huff on it, and wipe with the paper towel. Told you's I'm obsessed with eggs. That's why I lust after Wolftracks purple egg......MUST HAVE ONE!

Nest box stalker... Ha ha, me too. I also neurotically arrange the eggs in the cartons so the colors are not grouped up. They have to be mixed nicely. I have issues.

I do that same thing. My colored eggs are always strategically placed because some colors look nicer next to certain other colors. I often don't have the same colors touching.

And I think I still check the nest boxes 10 times a day looking for more eggs. Im a nest box stalker. Speaking of I need to run outside and lock up the coops, and grab any last laid eggs of the night.
