Me TOO!!!!

@chicken picken... When the snow was too deep here I used a sled to move the fresh shavings and such into the coops and the nasty stuff to the garden. (thank you for yet another awesome tip, Sally Sunshine).

Since we're posting the goat pics... here are some of my babies:

The above pic is of our "Houdini" we simply could NOT keep her put...till we got the No climb fence, NOT one escape since....Woo Hoo!!! @SilkieSensation (I know, I know, there is no such thing as a 'goat proof fence'), but this is working for me, for now. YAY!!

It just occurred to me, while fantasizing about hatching eggs, that even though I have this new incubator and all the goodies, I still am praying, deep down, for a hen to go broody. I would love to time this hatch-a-long with a broody. However, I believe it's been said before, you can't ever seem to get a broody hen when you want one.

Does anybody ever manage to participate in the Easter Hatch-a-Long with a broody hen? Sounds like fun to me!!

Some have hatched with broodies. I too am hoping for a broody. One of my barnevelders is plucking her breast feathers out, so she may accommodate me.

Babies, I have babies! One more on it's way. The first one that had pipped at the wrong end, didn't make it. Plus, it had quite the crooked beak. And, it's leg was way wrong..from the hip area problem. Not feeling too bad it didn't make .. poor baby. Oh, and it was a NN..but no NN.
I have plenty of NN's now. :)
Sorry you lost one, but congrats on the babies!

The participant list is current to post 2315.

Is it just me, or is set day taking a long time to get here?
YES! The cost of starting the hatch-a-long so emu hatchers can join. I'm glad we did though, now we get to have an emu hopefully hatch!

That is the buff Brahma that I dyed last year.

Just because everyone else gets to post baby pictures. Daisy is now 6.5 months old. Her dam just came back from being at the breeders for a month.
Adorable chick, but dang on the goat baby! She is too precious for words!

Unfortunately, I have to bow out of the hatchalong. I have had an order for chicks and I need to set them on the 15th. Maybe the Cinco de Mayo will be my hatchalong, its my sons birthday.
I'm so sorry.

The generator is reserved, to be picked up tomorrow. Whew!

Thanks for all the luck, it worked!

Now if I can jus keep it running all day and it will be enough to run the cabinet and tabletop bators............

I am not a genetics expert by any means but all my research suggests that legbars are a cross of araucana Brown leghorn and ?barred rocks.

There is a Chinese breed not in USA that has a blue egg gene that is different.

Either way I love having blue eggs. I have some ameraucana crosses that have beautiful blue eggs. I have ameraucana teenager birds and legbars in the bator.

I see more blue eggs in my future

I am not 100% sure, but I think the Chilean birds that Punnet used are from the same import that the British Auracana was formed. They are crested and tailed not tufted and tailless. So they are not the same as our Auracana nor the same as our Ameraucana who is bearded and muffed and tailed. It is possible that more than one blue egg gene came to South America too. Could have been separately or together and later diverged. The Blue Egg Sumatras that Toni-Marie has lay robin egg blue. They are decendents from the original import of Sumatras. They came here with the blue egg gene. It would be interesting to DNA test them to see if they have one or two of the genes for blue eggs.
