all the eggs landed happily in Virginia todaybummer
I shipped 14 eggs today. was going to send 16 but was out of the large bubble wrap I usually use to line the box around my bubble wrap pouches.
SO i put 14 in a box inside another box with small bubble around it.
I am trading Crele eggs for black penedesenca eggs
I filled the spaces with pieces of small bubble in between the eggs
this small box fit in the other box with bubble
Our start flock of chickens were already laying. They are probably between 2 - 4 years of age. We had to move them over 20 miles away, twice, because we had to move them so they could move the coop that came with them. No trauma. Those girls kept laying. As a matter of fact, they never stopped laying in the dead of winter and we do not provide artificial light. The only time these girls slacked off, but not completely, was when alot of them molted in the mid-fall. Just make sure to give them extra treats after their move and they should be good. .Hi, I am thinking of purchasing 2 yr old Buff Orphington Hens. Need opinions as to if you think they would be traumatized to the point they wont continue laying eggs. I really didn't want to buy baby chicks and wait for eggs. Opinions please>
Thanks,
Dolly
I've had people bring their young'uns to the meet up ^^ It's really easy to get to right off of 83 south at the Shrewsbury exit (4) and left onto 851 east and then a left into the 'stonebride plaza' then left up the little hill toward home depot then right into the parking lot for golds gym and batemans and some hair salon lolI want to come but I am not sure where to go yet. I will have to find out.Hubby has off Friday so I should be able to come. (It is adults only right?!) Lol![]()
Monday I got some kind of stomach bug, felt like someone was tying my guts in knots. Still had a little of it today.. But, I also got a call from school, Will was in the nurses office doubled over in pain... Now there is another one starting to complain of it too... I sure hope we get rid of it soon.
Quote: As we often say, laying can depend on the line. My BO are pretty good layers-- and super nice personalities. A gentle breed.
