This made me cry.
This is a true story.
I was outside taking care of chickens. I knew the mail had come, but hadn't looked at it yet. All of a sudden, my DH comes outside and yells..Cal Ranch has their still air incubators on sale! I looked up at him, and just stood there! What? I mean, I did hear what he said, but what? Ha ha..he said it again. Cal Ranch has their still air incubators on sale, and he says the price. He knew I was looking to get another bator and sell my old one, so he let me know. I had actually already bought anther one off the internet..but...we headed for Cal Ranch. He knows I have the other one coming.![]()

Quote: That is so weird. I have a picture in my head of a cougar as a mountain lion, but a panther as a huge scary black cat that prowls through the jungles...![]()

The "set all the eggs" image... who owns that and can we have a tshirt made? I really, really, want that on a tshirt.
That is a great idea! I want one!!
Have you tried the Michigan thread and the Silkie thread also?Ok, here is a long shot. Is there possibly anyone on here who lives somewhat near Lapeer, Michigan, who has 1/2 dozen SILKIE hatching eggs I could buy? My other bantam hen Nina, who is a veteran broody (raised two batches successfully) just went seriously broody today, and I have tentative permission from the family to let her hatch out a few silkie eggs.
I have never had silkies, but have always loved their fuzzy look, and wanted to try a few, and what better way than letting my banty hen hatch them!
I don't want to do shipped eggs, because I have heard that silkie eggs don't ship well, and I was kind of hoping I could get them in time to include them in the Hatch-Along!![]()

ANYONE???![]()
I bought some OEGBs from a breeder. He has them separated with lots of room and they are healthy and seem content but they do not have access to outdoors. After I brought home the ones I had bought and had them quarenteed, I put them in with my flock with access to the outside run. They were very cautious at first but soon were enjoying it. Then, once they were used to the coop, I let them free range. Talk about funny! You should have seen them high-stepping in the grass, trying to figure out was it was and then finding it edible-what a treat!!! I thought one little hen was going to bust her crop, she just keep eating the grass.
This made me cry.
