Quote: I disagree with this to a degree as wellsome of us do not have auto turners and in turn cannot turn say what???? 96 x a day to get best results and less malpositions, so some of us that hand turn will of course have much more incidence of malpositions unrelated to inbreeding and such. and I fear this turning has a higher level than all those other reasons not? I hope to turn some of this around (no pun intended)
with the addition of my SEMIauto turning in the cabinet incubator.![]()
It is kind of like, one person sleeps on the left side of the bed and another sleeps on the right. It is a preference.
I do not have problems with chicks pipping at the wrong end. That is usually an indication that something is wrong with the chick--inbreeding and such. Also, I am taking the strong survive and will make the breed stronger approach.
I do not help them so if they pip the wrong end and do not get out then they were not meant to get out. One reason for this is the breeder I am hatching for does not want chicks like that.
HEY! YOU USED THIS FIRST..I WAS SAVING THIS FOR JUST THE RIGHT TIME. WELL, GUESS YOU WERE TOO!
I think if you just wash it and put neosporin (if you have any) on it you'll be fine. If it needs it, apply ice. Last summer, I got a worse chunk out of me taken by a full grown rooster. He hit the main vein/artery in my wrist. I doctored it myself and I'm still alive with a fully functioning hand.![]()

If you are regularly around places that could have tetanus you should get a shot at some time. There have been some bad cases of it in the US recently--It's one of those rare illnesses that Docs do not easily recognize anymore.Ouch, that sounds bad! Thanks for the tip, I disinfected it and hope that does the trick. I have so many other health issues that I don't want to take any chances, but I don't feel like going to the dr right now as it's 10:00 PM in Norway. The neosporin will have to do![]()
Good night to you all from here! Tomorrow will be day 3 of incubation here, and I already can't wait for candle day to come!!![]()
