I now have all the shipped eggs for the Easter Hatch-A-Long!!! The last box came today

...only 1 broken egg out of 15 (too bad there weren't any extras though) so I only have 1 chance to hatch a BLRW, 2 Barnvelders, a couple Ameraucanas, 1 Cuckoo Maran, a couple of Wheaten Marans, a few Olive Eggers, a few more BCM, but lots of possibilities for Speckled Sussex, and Silver Birchens... It will be a busy and colorful incubator if I have a good hatch rate. I cna't wait to get them going...they are sitting and resting...I feel like the assorted mix box got really knocked around to have that one egg break so badly...and they were packed really well in there. Well, shipping is not always wonderful, and I know it's a gamble...now if there was a way to find some local BLRW eggs...hmmmm....anyone live nearby in Pa or NJ have them? The anticipation is killing me.

For once I am joining the Hatch-a-long and not just lurking.

In the "little" incubator already: Embden Goose eggs
Dutch Hookbill Ducks

Ready to go: Birchen cochin bantam
BLR Wyandotte bantam
Blue Sizzles
Blue Ameraucana LF

All I need now is for my cabinet incubator to finally temperature stabilize and for my power to stay on

Ok I am ready for the Hatchalong I will post my final numbers tomorrow. Also sold two chicks today and have three 6 week old chicks leaving tomorrow. Woohoo people are finally thinking spring and baby chicks.

I'm back! Haven't been around here much. It's been about a year since I last hatched, and I'm so excited for an Easter hatch. "Itchy hatchy" as I call it... Eggs will be from my paint silkie flock. I'll be setting 24+ eggs - final number will be determined when the eggs go in the incubator. =)

I haven't forgotten about that brooder emu chick cam i was talking about. : ) just waiting for my lap top to be fixed so that I can take the live stream to them. And BIG NEWS everyone......So the emu egg i set for this hatch-a-long, that I wasn't sure was fertile.... hit it's 30th day of incubation.....and so, I tried a wiggle test on it and...... well......THE EASTER HATCH ALONG EMU EGG WAS POSITIVE FOR WIGGLES TODAY!!! WE HAVE THE FIRST EVER EASTER HATCH ALONG EMU CHICK ON IT'S WAY! So happy that it was actually fertile!!!

Broke Down and fired up the second cabinet incubator and it is holding a nice steady temperature Woo Hoo Just couldnt fit all the eggs in one and decided it wasn't worth trying to crowd them all in to one. So I have two going plus to styros that are holding lock down eggs now and one Janoel48 that has quail and muskovy eggs in it. Muskovys will hatch for the easter hatchalong.
