So my shipped eggs have been sitting for 48 hours- 24 of those in the incubtor, fat side up, no turning. Do you think it's safe to start turning now. Should I candle again first? I did have quite a few detached air cells when I first got them.

In other news, I got a call today from Mr. Will Morrow of Whitmore Farm letting me know that my Delaware chicks are ready! Squeee!

Repeating my question, in case it was missed. :)

SoManyHats... He isn't on now, but will be later. You will get an answer. I know that he lets his sit in the bator for 5 days..because I also asked. With reg. temp. If you have extra bad air sacs, maybe you should wait a little longer before turning.
Do you have some setting .. Out..? For that long? If so, I would recommend putting them in the bator..sitting up for a while longer.
ron, I hope I got most of that right. :)

I have one right now, and two more "practicing" but returning to the roost at night. Those two are proven broody hens but just aren't there yet this go 'round.

2 sitting all night, 5 day sitters, and one who sits for a bit everyday but not all day.

UPDATE ON THE new CABINET COOLER BATOR!!
DOING AWESOME!!!

We took out the black coded eggs that are on day 16 and put them into one of our reg coolerbators to hatch out, as we need room to set for the Easter Hatchalong! these are now in the reg cooler......due to hatch Wednesday.

We filled up two trays and added them to the CABINET COOLER BATOR (I need to make another Cabinet cooler when the girls are back on laying track!)
ANYONE see anything WRONG With this image?????
NOTE to self, don't accept help from DH when adding eggs to the incubators!!! HA HA HA he is soooooo lucky I picked up on it!

SOOOOOO

EASTER HATCH SET are as follows....................

25 Crested Cream Legbar
30 Partridge Brahama
4 white faced black Spanish
4 CCL x Barred Rocks
7 CCL x Polish But these haven’t been fertile yet L
70 eggs Total Set this evening

@mlmddh

It was already answered but I picked up on the pointy side up too! of course, I wouldn't have if you hadn't said there was something wrong, lol!
Quote: I just went through this. I would check the cells first for sure. I waited 3 days, then candled, all but 3 had reattached so I put them in the turner and started turning. The other 3 I left in a carton. Next evening I added them to the turner. It won't hurt to wait...I have 11 duckies growing in there now! YAY!

Wish me luck! Immediately after taking this picture, I realized I had the egg disc upside down, so I took them out, flipped the disc over, and put them back in -

Good luck to all of us and may many happy fluffballs appear!
