Oh forgot the broody count - not for hatchalong, but I have 3 Silkie ladies sharing duties over 8 Silkie eggs in one pen, and 1 Silkie lady of experience incubating 6 of Hangtown Farms White Empordanesa, sticking like glue to these rare eggs :)

So I have 12 from Rbaker barnyard mix I think. Six are blue, 3 are green and 3 are brown.
I have 17 Bantam Wellsummers
I have 25 cortunix quail eggs that should be here tomorrow.
I will probably throw in some of my Olive Eggers to fill up any gaps.
So that should be 54 if the quail eggs haven't gotten lost.

And OMG it is almost time to buy my turkey eggs for Cinco de Mayo!

My other doe gave birth to 2 BIG girls today (to make up for all the boys yesterday.) Done kidding for the season. Now I can concentrate on the HAL again. Lol

Congratulations! Just darling!

Ok so I am officially joining the Hatch-a-long.

On Saturday I will set:

12 English Orps (2 Cuckoo, 2 Red Cuckoo, 3 Chocolate, 2 Gold Laced, 1 Jubilee) all shipped. (incubator #1)
12 Ayam Cemani straight from my own backyard. (incubator #2)

On Monday I will set 12 Arkansas Blue Eggs shipped (incubator #3). These did not quite make it here. So fingers crossed they arrive on Monday.

I am resisting the temptation to set any more than that as I have 34 American Bresse eggs hatching on Tuesday. Not sure why I set to hatch on Tuesday but it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Not sure if I can handle anymore than that. I already have 2 brooders full of little chicks (no longer sure of how many but it looks like a little army of all black chicks) plus 10 chicks that no longer fit in a brooder that roost on the side of one.

I've just put 24 eggs in the bator foe the Hatch-a-Long: a dozen BCM's and another dozen BBS Marans! I set then a little early because my hatches tend to run a half a day late.

First kitten is out and......

It is dark like mom.... Darn... Oh well it is still cute!

Congrats! We are fostering a very prego kitty for our shelter and she's about ready to go (we think)...she's thrown up a few times today and had gooey poo, so we could be finding more of that in the am, or maybe kittens too...she's a very pretty dilute tortie...pics when the babies come. How exciting these days are! I have 3 chicks who pipped and hatched already today, and 3 more are working on it now (out of 8 eggs) and Miss Princess is going to have her babies soon!
Here she is...

Reminder:

Alright, now we are to that time when we need to start recording egg numbers.

When you are finished setting ALL of your eggs, please post in this thread, how many total eggs you set for this Hatchalong. (anything +/- 2 days from set day counts)

If you ended up not setting any eggs, please also let us know, so we can record it and know when the count is done.

If you can, post pictures of the eggs you set. (Because we all love looking at pretty eggs in an incubator) If you have a broody, don't worry about it unless you take the picture before you give them to your broody.

If you could also give us the total number you set, it would be helpful. It's a manual process to record this for us, there are over 300 participants and 3 of us. It would help us greatly if we didn't have to add up each individuals number set. Although we are interested in the breeds you set, please include the total number somewhere. Thank You!

She's pretty! Don't think I'm being a know it all..please...! We used to raise Persian Cats..and a dilute Tortoiseshell has no white. White on the dilute orange and black..cream and blue..is a calico. You have a Dilute Calico there.

We tried so hard to have our Tortoi to have a dilute calico, but no luck..we ended up buying one. :) Maybe you can post photos of your babies when they come? That would be great.
