Thank you. So I have it set right? That's the one with the air cell on the side.
Have y'all seen my hatcher?

Yes that looks good. Watch it if it pips for liquid comes out of the pip. If it looks like it is hatching late, after the others, it is ok to make a small pip in the big end of the egg.Thank you. So I have it set right? That's the one with the air cell on the side.

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that.My easter hatch was a total failure. I've already ended mine... 0 have/will hatch. All three goose eggs were clear, and all but two rouen eggs were clear. The last two quit, visible at the second candling.

Remember to not help unless absolutely necessary. Read the guide to assisted hatching.
yes, it will be extremely tough for that one and you may need to help.Even tho the air cell isn't in the big end. And I've read it many many times. I had to help Luke the lone duck.
Oh that's awful. And out of morbid curiosity, I do wonder what a squirrel nestbox looks like...
Since we have some kitty people on here...
I have a small issue. Night, my cat who had 5 kittens this morning, has not dried them or herself. The placentas are still attached. Can I cut the cords? If so, how far from their stomachs? Do I need to do something to limit blood flow? Disinfect? I have no iodine but have triple antibiotic some place. I really have never had a cat this dumb to having babies.
ETA: Night lost a lot of weight during pregnancy. She was already a small cat - an Asian body type - and now her hips and back bone are sticking out. I am actually afraid she may not be able to nurse these kittens. She did bag up a little, but not a lot. I was going by that for when she was due. I knew it was soon, but she didn't really have enough milk - especially for 5 kittens!
BTW - Night is a blue calico. Looks like we have one orange, two blacks a blue tabby and either a black or blue calico.
