CHICKENCANOE! YOU LITTLE STINK..WHY..HOW, DID YOU LET ME FORGET YOUR BIRTHDAY? EY? NOW, WAS IT YESTERDAY? OR WAS IT TWO DAYS AGO? YOU HAVE TO LET US KNOW HOW IT WENT. NOW I HAVE TO SEND A BELATED, HATE IT WHEN THAT HAPPENS!
Happy Birthday ChickenCanoe!

Quote: Mine are getting fatter, and they already waddle. They are 5 weeks old.

Got snowflake bobwhite quail eggs in the mail today. :) Hope to hatch out some of those beauties.
(Note, not my photo, googled:)

Holy smokes, those are beautiful! What do their eggs look like?

Is this a blood ring? There was movement but no eye spot Monday. Then yesterday and today this is all I can see. I'm not sure if I can see movement now....

Also has anyone ever heard of twins from a single yolk egg? I have one egg that I will swear has two separate eye spots. Im uploading a video to photobucket as we speak but here is a pic.

The one is in the center. The other is off to the far right of the picture.

The top one looks like a clear but may be developing. I would leave it in. Blood rings do not look like that. Sally posted a link to a UCD article that showed blood rings.

I think what you are seeing is a chick and a vein cluster. It does not look like two chicks.

Congratulations! You have a very healthy egg!

It's the same porous egg that I've been posting pictures of.

Here's the video. I hope it works

Finally got the chicks from my last 2 hatches out of the house! I went out and started screwing boards to the floor in the wood shed to cover all the holes and rotten boards, because my husband just wasn't getting it done. He comes home and sees what I've done and asks me how long it will take me to remove everything.... Thankfully I only put a few screws in each board. He then went and grabbed some stuff and helped me fix up the shed properly.

So I've found the secret to getting stuff done is to start doing it myself and my husband will come along and finish/fix it because I have 0 carpentry skills.

At least now I'm ready for my batch hatching now and my hatch-a-long chicks next week.

After smashing my finger in the hatch of my work vehicle yesterday (breaking it and slicing it), my 16 month old sick with Croup and getting rear-ended today (in that same work vehicle) I am wayyyyy far behind(and ready for the weekend)!! Thank goodness for Rons digest!! IS IT FRIDAY YET!? HAHAHAHA!! Random thought... since I had eggs hatching last weekend I didn't want to risk anything with candling... so I am soooo waiting for saturday (Day 14) so I can candle my eggies and see how they are doing!!! GO EGGIES GO!!!

Have a good night everyone!!!

13!!! AND SERAMA!!!! Lost from PA to TX and you have 13 viable! Ty this is FANTASTIC!!! How were your air cells and such at start? This is wonderful news!! So glad, the kids are going to fall in love with these babies Ty! YAY.... HarmonyAnn also says GO CHICKIES (with big smile on her face!) She asked me if you are going to show her images and tell her how many frizzled and how their friz looks! Dont you love this girl! ha ha ha The two "surprises are also looking good? Oh Ty, you have FANTASTIC IMAGES TOO!!!
The 13 include the 2 surprise I think I will have to locate the paper I wrote all my info down in the morning. Some of the air sacs were perfect, these I put in my mini. Some were not very good at all, very jiggly and even a couple rollers, those are the ones that were duds. The ones that were not perfect started in my octogon 20 not rolling the first few days as Ron suggests. After the first 6 or so days I noticed the big brinsea was not keeping good temps so I moved them to my cooler bator where I have been hand turning them about 4 times a day. I will definitely post pictures and all the other good stuff for you and harmonyAnn!! These are her project so I think it will be interesting to see how they fair here :)

That is an egg with a chick in it! It is doing fine and what you are able to see is part of a vein.

It looks like that one will hatch fine for you.
