Soooo I candled my 31 last night (jumped the gun a tiny bit, day 13...lol) and took out 6. Three super early quitters, maybe one weekish? Three a little later than that. The rest look GREAT. My little red star Roo "Dean" is definitely gettin' the job done. No clears!
I didnt know where I would put all of them but I've had people asking me for chicks already so I'm good

Random question that maybe someone knows the answer to or where i can find it.... Barred rock chicks are supposed to be a sex link type of chicken (i think) the spot on the head... does that indicate male or female?

idk but if the chicks are brand new you can check the length of the feathers to determine sex

OH MY GOSH… the post office gave my chicks to someone else!!!!!

Apparently the other person was picking up a lot of chicks and she (the lady at the post office) assumed all the chicks went together. So, forget reading the address labels, let's just hand over the living creatures without making sure they are going to the right place. UGH. Now she can't get a hold of the guy she gave my chicks to. I am LIVID.

Seems like the post office should owe you a refund.

A smaller, more defined spot is a female (if my memory is correct)

That only works on a relatively few breeds.

Happened to me once. I was lucky, the person brought back the box of chicks that didn't belong to her. Good luck, you may yet get them back!
