I think they should be fine. What day are you on? Is your incubator full?

This is day 14, I have 12 eggs in is LG circ air

My last hatch ran around 104 for a few days during mid-incubation and I hatched about 80%. I know my temperature was that high as my thermometers were newly calibrated and accurate. I would have had a better hatch than 80% if I had not left some eggs against the wall in the still air incubator during lockdown when my temperature dropped down to 99 and it was even cooler at the side walls.

Thank you for this ray of hope!

I'm so sorry about your power bill. :hugs I wish I could cheer you up. My kids are really excited about Easter coming up. I wish you could see. They are all about some Easter eggs. Also my youngest of 3 boys turns 4 in 4 days. :)

Easter was so much fun as a kid, wish I had nephews and neices to hide eggs for! Are you all going to decorate eggs? :)

Yup. We have an abundance of chicken, duck, and goose eggs around here. I am thinking of doing it the old time way. Every time I smell vinegar, I think about my childhood and dyeing eggs. If you got that color on your hands it was there for a week...lol

Today is taking all the relaxation out of my stay-at-home vacation. Going to have to spend it tracking down whatever defective thing caused a 500 electric bill. It's insane. Ruled out the meter being broken, trying to figure out which breaker the culprit is on. With my luck it will be some wiring on the fritz. Hoping it is something I can fix or live without for a while.

50cc's of someone elses's good news stat?

Our library has Killa Watts that we can check out. You plug your appliance into it and it tells you how much electricity it is using.

PGandE will check the wiring for free too. Maybe you Electricity provider will do that for you where you live.

Two years ago, Our City installed water meters. They sent out sample bills to us to let us know what the new bills would be. Some had huge water bills because of leaks they did not know they had.

LOLOL! I know!!! it's sooo exciting! especially your first hatch! I sometimes watch hatching in my bator if I have time! Unzipping is my favourite! it can take hours or it could take 5 mins or less! I find it soo amazing and exciting to see them hatch! I think that putting a video cam up to catch the action is a fantastic idea! I know how you feel though! waiting for them to hatch! the anticipation is nerve racking and nail biting but all worth it when they finally do! Hoping you have a good hatch!!

P.S I may steal that idea and put my own hatch cam up tn for my JG's hatching! have been wanting to for a while and your post reminded me!
I think JG's and goose eggs are the worst! some hatch on day 21 or 28 and others may take 1-3 days and geese sometimes even 4 days longer!
always makes me wanna peek in the shell and be like "are you coming out or whattt???" but you can only sit and wait for your answer!

But if you take a video post it! or at least part of it and let us know how your hatch goes! good luck and Happy Hatching!! I'm crossing my fingers for you and your little ones!
it will prob only be partial video anyway. or maybe multiple sections cause my regular camera broke so now i only have cell cam :/ but i will def be posting
I'm so disappointed! Checked my bator and it was up over 104!!! Not sure for how long, impatiently waiting for night fall to candle.
ive had a couple spikes like that and only lost 2 eggs. not sure if that was why or maybe another reason but i was sure i killed them all before i candled. i have 8/11 left (2 clears got tossed too)

I have one I can use on Monday, until then most things are unplugged. I suspect the culprit might be the dehumidifier in the basement - turning it off seemed to halve the spin speed of the meter from what I could tell. Unfortunately it runs to prevent a mold problem - bad grading is the cause. Maybe the work load broke it internally, it hasn't been abnormally wet. Hoping it is as simple as that.

Me too!

$500.00 is way too high for an electric bill.

Just candled day 14 down 2 more. One clear, I had been waiting to make sure and one bloodring. Opened them up and the bloodring one didn't look very old maybe just a few days. Still doing real good 28 good eggs and air cells look good. Hope everyone else is coming along well!!!

21 little chicks from the hatcher today, time to clean and turn it around for this week! Woot. Lots of eggs with good development, fingers crossed for a great hatch for everyone!

Went to a little swap today, no much interesting bird-wise, but scored a couple nice cages to use for some quail I'm incubating. Bonus.

My hatch day is coming up on Thursday. I gave my remaining two eggs to my broody hen, and she's sitting in the community nest box. My concern is that it's a couple feet off the ground, and that the chicks might fall off the side. What should I do? :/
