she was probably like "noooo, no, no! NOOO! this is not my nest! I did not nest here! That's my nest and my nest only! I want my nest, right here, and here only and you CANNOT MAKE ME MOVE!!!! MINE!!!!!!!" "Now I command you give me my nest and eggs back human! Nowwww!!"
Yes! That's exactly what it was like. A two year old's tantrum!
LOLOL! but if she has only two eggs and two golf balls (lol I used ping pong balls for my bantams!!) and she is THAT broody then I would leave her there! Plus she only has two eggs, so two chicks at most will not be hard to keep under her! If she had a next full of eggs up to her skirt and she has just enough feather wings and body to keep them in then it would be a lot harder to keep all those chicks underneath! She will probably hoard her chicks under her like her eggs! and yell at them if they try to venture away from her!
Well, that's good to know. I will try to move them at night after they hatch, I guess.
I'm still laughing at the thought of her hoarding eggs as soon as the others lay them and also her screaming at the door of her cage demanding to be let out then strutting straight back to her box all upset and poofed out yelling and letting everyone know about her debacle as she went! I love when broodys walk around voicing their troubles, and take their frustration out on anything that gets too close or gets just a little in the way of their mission! LOL! and how everything in their path would step aside or run out of the way so they wouldn't get pecked and screamed at!
Yup! And she is getting very mean. Do they know when it's getting close to hatch time, because she seems to get meaner every day? She's only been sitting for a week (I gave her eggs from the incubator), but maybe she understands the chicks are close to hatching (Wed or Thursday)?
That is a lot of eggs!I'm so mad! One of my first time customers just flaked on 5 dozen hatching eggs!
Chickens can't count, so you're good.I have a broody hen, it's her first time being broody. I don't want to give her fresh eggs because we will be away for a long weekend in 21 days, so I am going to give her my Easter hatch along eggs out of the incubator. I hope she can't count, and won't notice that it has not been 21 days![]()
Yes, yes it is. Hopefully I can get them sold so they can be hatched. If not, they will be used regardless but just ticked when people back out last minute. And the fact that every eggs I have cracked for eating purposes in the last month or so has been fertile so I know they should develop. That is a lot of eggs!
Has anyone tried to record all the peeps on cell phone and play it back it helps to encourage!? I have it works!
