Good morning! So, it's 32 degrees here right now. If chicks hatch with my broody, she'll keep them warm, right?

I might have an overly simple approach to this but if they hatch and are dragging stuff around I generally just let them be and it has always solved itself. I wait 2 days after hatch day and unless healthy chicks are still in the process of hatching I consider the hatch done.
Im a little nervous about my Silkies, they hatched on NYD. It poured all day yesterday and the silly things sat in the ran all day like they were confused and didn't know how to get out of it. Then last night was freezing and then snowed. I just moved them outside a few days ago because the temps were in the 60s and 70s. They are temporarily in dog crates for protection inside a fenced yard off my back deck. I wasn't expecting the weather to turn like this and feel awful they aren't in a coop yet. I think I may need to bring them back into the garage today and maybe give them a heat lamp to warm then up after being wet all day and maybe all night![]()
