I went into lockdown yesterday. As I was distributing them between two bators I heard a peep, and sure enough, one had pipped. He came out this morning. Day 18 is too early - I don't know why he was in such a hurry. No one else has budged. I have 43 eggs out of the original 57 that are in lockdown. I hope at least half of them hatch.

Out of my original 83 set for the HAL only 49 made it to lock down. I woke up this morning to 4 chicks(1 SS, 2 EE and a BYM) running around and 2 external but on the sides below the air cell. I've never had this happen before and it's from eggs not of my own chickens.

Woke up this morning to a pip! Just one...no one else is makin' any noise, just some rocking. This is going to be my early bird!

Gilly is still alive! She really is sleeping A LOT...I hope that's just normal, and not because it's a sign I'll lose her. She's such a cutie!

So this just happened. Laying in bed on my phone with my 20mo old and I'm reading this thread. Suddenly I hear chirping. I nearly plowed the kid outta my bed, rushed over to the incubator sitting on top of my dresser and put my ear to the lid. Hmmm nothing. Then chirping again! UGH it was outside. Lol darn birds.

My chicks started hatching yesterday, two days early. Anyone else having them hatch early?
I had 2 hatch yesterday on day 18, and there are no other pips. People have said higher temps cause them to hatch early, but only 2 out of 32? Maybe those 2 eggs were the closest to the turner motor...not sure.

Good Morning everyone!

Always fun getting up extra early to chase horses that escaped their padlock.
I definitely feel for you there, in February my 3 horses decided to get out and venture to the neighbors where they had 4 studs at the exact time my Palomino and Paint pony mares were in heat. Not looking forward to Dec/Jan babies for sure especially when I live in Northern Wisconsin!

DISASTER!!! Woke up this morning and found the bator turned OFF! I think my BF must have accidentally hit the button on the power strip last night while searching for something behind the couch. Even worse, last night was cold and our heater isn't working properly. So the temp in the bator was 55 this morning. I think it was off for about 7 hours. I quickly candled 2 eggs, and I did see movement, so I'm hopeful. Nice thing about the Brinsea is how quickly it warms up.

Today is day 20. Now I'm more stressed than ever about my hatch!
