Good Morning Everone! Happy Friday! This is the last day of school for the kids and then they start WINTER VACATION from school.

and then they think about it and go, But we are gonna be bored what are we gonna do allllllll week long? then this is them

LOL.

This week was my son's February Break from school. We did lots and lots of sledding, (quite the weather for it) and just in case we needed more calories for sledding, we made several chocolate covered concoctions (I actually liked the chocolate covered peanut butter crackers better than the chocolate covered oreo cookies) Just melt some chocolate chips in a microwave safe dish, and have your kid dip them and lay them on waxed paper to dry. Basically just grab anything and dip it in chocolate. Teddy grams, strawberries, etc.
We also downloaded a free app called "Read Me Stories" that has your child practice sight words. Your children may be older than mine. It's great for 4-6 yrs.
Plus we helped shovel the driveway, cleaned up the house a little, it was awesome to have that time off! We'll be sad to go back to school next week! Hope you and your kids have a nice time!

It snowed here again today, and more snow this weekend and then again next Wednesday. Sigh, Im tired of snow.

DH and I shoveled a roof today, it literally had almost 5ft of snow across the entire huge Garage (auto body shop) roof. Took us 6.5hrs just the two of us. Man are we beat.

Oh my.

We are supposed to have a lot of snow in the mountains here, but unfortunately, not this year. This is Mammoth, a huge ski area, and there is hardly any snow. My son's Nordic team was skiing around asphalt. Several other races had to be cancelled, including Yosemite, because of no snow.

just as long as the embryo hasnt started to develop crystals you should be fine...once it freezes at that point the eggs are not good...

I just picked up some FBCM eggs that I ordered on ebay. I'm hoping for a great hatch. My Marans egg color is not good at all and I'm excited for some gorgeously dark eggs

the ones from my Marans are on the left. The rest are the eBay eggs. Wish me luck everyone!

I bought 3 varieties of Marans eggs from someone that supposedly had some of the best lines but to my disappointment, the eggs weren't dark at all.
It's so important when trying to maintain a dark egg, to select for that trait and cull hard. It can be lost quickly.

lol nope it sure is a roof in an area away from planes lol. We have gotten a lot of snow this winter. We also have a sneaking suspicion that the son of the garage owner may have also been adding additional snow when he was helping out his mother by snow blowing the back driveway

We're under a winter weather advisory. I refuse to get off the back porch. I hate the cold that much. I'm pretty sure I've got frozen eggs waiting for me.

I have a first grandchild due to hatch April 3!

I'm worried I won't have time to devote to baby chicks and adore my grandson, but temptation has won out and I just ordered CCL, Lav. Orp, Americauna and SFH eggs!

What is the earliest date I can set and still be part of the hatchalong?
