I just got some speckled Sussex eggs shipped to me. The eggs are very porous and I can't make out the air cell on many. I plan to let them rest for a day or two.

But, the only incubator I have is my broody. Is this bad?

Give them to the broody sooner. It is better to get them incubating then to wait.

Broodies are a good choice!

ace...ron took the words right out of my mouth. :) I've had many porous eggs do just fine.

I'm feeling like I hit the jackpot today. I got a total of nine out if twenty-one hens today. They have been laying only two to five a day for the past week. I put it down to the extra cold weather and a change in their feed. I put them back on the old one I was feeding.

I made mine since they didn't come small enough and I'll never buy another one. I used an adjustable cable tie. NOT a zip tie, the soft Velcro kind. I sewed a small squishy sleeve that goes over it and I can put it on like a dog collar and it doesn't bother my little guy one little bit. The best part about the ties are they don't stretch out over time. Eventually the Velcro will wear out but compared to elastic they are much more secure. If you YouTube DIY rooster collar you will find a bunch of tutorials. I highly recomand them, mine works like a gem. It makes his crow sound like he's doing a heavy sigh instead of a crow, just a bunch of air comes out no sound.

How do you tell if a egg is too porus? Does it make it hard to incubate or hatch?

When you candle a porous egg, the weaker spots in the shell will shine much brighter, making the egg look like it has lots of bright speckles.
The best bet with hatching is that you want the shell, ideally everything, to be as normal as possible. If the shell is a little thinner or weaker it may increase some risks.
My leghorns tend to lay thin shelled, porous eggs this time of year, but I hatched several batches last early spring and they all turned out healthy chicks.
