I'm not new to BYC but never have participated in a HAL. Never followed either..not sure why not??
I'm thinking I'm gonna do it! Easter HAL seems so appropriate! So count me in!
I have eggs in now but should be all done by 2/26 ish so plenty of time.
As for breeds. Hmmm. Undecided ATM. I've got some breeders to sort through.
Tentatively I'll say Black and Blue Copper Marans, bantam Cochins and fingers crossed maybe some of my Peafowl.
Some of my eggs sitting around because they are all with the wrong guys!!![]()
Do you think there is any chance of the peafowl laying early enough? I'm in Ohio so I'm guessing weather is not much different from yours. This will be my first year with pea eggs but I really wasn't thinking about the peafowl yet. Heck I don't think I will even have any of the chickens divided into breeding pens. I was thinking some colorful mix breeds would make wonderful Easter chicks.
