I just found this today, I started my eggs on the 17th so I understand if its too late to join. Im putting in these mixed eggs, Light brahma/araucana, araucana/araucana, and one araucana/polish mix. This is my first hatch, from my first chickens, and my rooster Mr. Smith, just last year he was torn apart by a bear, hes healed and in just a few weeks he will be a first time daddy!

Quote: I've looked at the various homemade from cheap or free materials mold on you tube. I really don't like lining and taping... I may search amazon for some cheap flexible bakeware. I saw some really nice shapes of soaps from the mailing tubes and boxes. I use milk in my soaps so I choose not to insulate but the mailers would be perfect at holding towels around a smaller mold too.

I'm looking at the wooden molds but I'm not sure i want to invest that much. Maybe I'll get some scrap wood to put around my current loaf mold. A lot of the already made molds are larger too and I'm not close to making 5 pounds of soap in one batch. I don't think I even have the right sized mixing bowls or blender stick. Then there is the poring it into the molds. 5 pounds is a lot to hold at just the right angle. But 5 pound batches would make measurement seem less tedious. No more .25 ounce of .. and 1 ounce of ... Also a 5 pound batch would have a larger margin of error on the measurements.
Once, the egg whites had leaked out a bit and sealed the shell to the turner. I had to take all of the other eggs out and put them in the bater without the turner while I soaked the egg to loosen the seal. I got the egg out after an hour of soaking the tray and egg. The egg was not near the motor so I just stood the motor end up out of the sin away from the water. It might have been faster to just break the egg but at the time I did not now how long it would take an egg to smell.Anyone ever have an egg stuck in the egg turner?![]()

Missed some of the conversation, but could you use the silicone molds used for cooking? Sorry, if that was already covered. Maybe find some a the dollar stores.I've looked at the various homemade from cheap or free materials mold on you tube. I really don't like lining and taping...
