I wouldn't. I know I tried my EcoGlow outside in my greenhouse coop one spring. It was inside a rubbermaid container with a cut-out to help hold in the heat. I think my chicks were a few weeks old. I don't think I lost any and can't remember the exact issue, but I decided it was a bad idea. If I remember right, the EcoGlow is only designed to raise the temp about 15 to 20 degrees above ambient room temp.
I'm assuming the outbuilding is large, so I agree, I wouldn't do it.
I have done it, but I brood in a very small coop that I know holds in heat well.
Quote: I don't think it was an issue with the chicks, but the EcoGlow itself. I think it may have been an issue with the power supply - like it may have tripped the GFCI because of the load it was drawing? Or maybe the power supply had to be replaced?Sorry I can't be more help.![]()
Love those pink eggs!
I use ultra fine point sharpie markers. I got a variety pack with many colors so I can mark eggs differently depending on my needs. How do folks mark their eggs? Just curious.
I use pencil. I would use a sharpie under a broody, but pencil works fine for the incubator. How do folks mark their eggs? Just curious.
