An assortment if my regular: EE, NN and BJG x Green Eggers. I have 40 set. These are for an upcoming auction, local one.

Maybe that is what took 20 of my birds last year because one second there fine next they stop eating then they die within 6 hours. Can pigeons carry??? We have a few that come in the barn during winter but i try to get rid of them
Coccidiosis is a cyst that lives in the soil. It can come from wild birds but once it is present it will keep infecting the young chickens.

Quote: The chicken you posted a picture of looks exactly like on that has cocci. the protozoa chews up the intestines so what you see is their reaction to severe pain in their intestines. It usually happens at a couple of weeks old to 16 plus weeks old. Older chickens become immune to it but it can still cause problems with older chickens too.

Treatment is:

I would use the severe treatment for your sick one--and all of the chickens she is penned with.

I haven't found them to be any different to care for. They may be more susceptible to freezing drafts but otherwise

I kept them with all my other birds so were exposed to extreme heat and cold.
One was a great broody. I'm not sure what the parentage was but could have been Columbian Wyandotte.

Are Frizzles hard to take care of? They are beyond cute!

Take care the same way as other chickens. If they are bantam, care for them as a batam, the fluffy feet need to be watched. They need to be cleaned up, stuff tends to stick to their furry feet. :)

And..............

This is one that I was excited about, but turned out to be a boy.

Spring incubator maintenance is done! Replaced my circulation fan and fired the unit up so I can start calibration. I'm really excited about the start of the hatching season, especially since my broody is already weeks ahead of me as far as incubation goes!
I can't wait to get the season started!!!

This thread moves fast! I think for the HAL I will try to hatch a few 2nd Generation Olive Eggers and/or some black sexlinks, unless my Australorp cockerel kicks it into gear and I start getting fertile eggs from his girls.Nothing too exciting, but it would be so much fun to have them Easter morning.

I do have a question, can someone give me an idea of the sorts of prizes usually given out? I kind of want to provide some prize or other, but I don't want to offer something and have it be the worst prize given out.
