I was wondering about this..also, if there would be a danger of them hitting the heating element? ?? Sounds like a great idea to take out the wire. Not so high and close up to the heating elements.I have a similar one that I have used successfully several times. I'll try to remember to get a picture when I lock down. I used twisty ties to hold mine together in case I ever want to reconfigure (and never have). I use the wire out of the bottom to cover it because those little boogers use each other to climb over the top.
I like this. I only give my babies the med. for a few days, then off to the reg. starter if they don't have a mama...other than me.My chicks that broody hens hatch never get starter, they do free range as soon as the mother hen starts taking them out though.
When I was transferring them from the auto turner to the incubator. They should have hatched on the 3rd.![]()
