Don't know what has happened to my chicks. I set 41 eggs and set the a day early so they would start hatching yesterday. Today is day 22. I have no pips and hear no peeps. I am worried but do not know what could have happened.

x2 but lower number of eggs set.

Saw eggs rocking on Tues, but nothing since Wed morning when I moved them to the hatcher. Afraid to open it. I hope they're just late, but I've never had ALL of them late.

What am I suppose to do when an egg pips from the bottom? Sent they always suppose to pip from the top??

Give it time, they can hatch on their own.

When a chick first pips is it supposed to knock a piece of the shell off, or is it ok it's just bumped out?

Okay I was just checking! It piped sometime this morning and hasn't done any zipping yet so I was starting to get concerned.

Yes that is totally normal

Go to the first page of the thread a and look for the link to the guide to assisted hatching.

Definitely give it more time--It should hatch on it's own but you have to watch them.

I do not assist any more but it is a decision you need to make.

I can hear peeping under the broodies! So I have at least one! Woot! So cool. My first broody
hatch!

I have three pips now, and although I can hear them chirping some, they are not doing much at all. Hopefully they will be out in the morning. Happy Easter everyone!

So, my hatch is complete. Out of 7 eggs a total of 7 live chicks hatched.
