Awesome! That's what I'm thinking of getting. Is it still air or circulated? Any quirks that you've noticed?

Start it early so you can have plenty of time to adjust it. Mine tends to be temperamental. I have to watch the temps and humidity pretty close. But I still think it works well for hatching. For some reason, though, this time mine would not do 98*. It skipped from 97 to 99. I tried several times but it never would go to 98.

Just candled my eggs in the bator. 13/14 look good! Lock down on Friday I also checked the next 11 eggs. ALL look like they're developing. They're on week 7. My roo has been a busy boy. He has 21 girls to watchover! The last 7, I couldn't tell. They're too dark and only on day 3 lol. These are my shipped eggs so I'm hoping I'll be able to tell something by Friday.

I use an older Little Giant incubator with the fan attachment and egg turner and my last hatch hatched 13/16. So I am happy with that. I did switch to the dry incubation method for the first 17 days. I've read that a lot of people especially with the foam bators that have had not so great hatches that have switched to the dry method have had much better results.

I use the rubber shelf liner and it really does make it much easier to clean. (And you can get the liner right at the dollar store!)

I see now that I am not the only one that asked that question....lol

Yes, they are cute. Lavender Orpingtons. They are a friends. She ended up with 5 and 5 LO mixes.

As much as I want to set eggs right now... It's just too cold here. Pain raising the chicks in this weather. Luckily April will be way warmer for this HAL

Edited: because posting using my phone is kind of grrrr.

I begged the Hubby to let me join the NYD hal. In hindsight, it was not the smartest idea. They are still in the house! I still haven't told him I'm doing this Hal, I'm waiting until the Jan. chicks are either sold or outside.
