Does anyone feel like getting the bator out and washing it is part of the ritual?????

I wash mine out after each use. So when its time to set again all I need to do is blow the dust off.

This will be my first hatch and hoping you guys will be able to help me!! I have tried to hatch before but I started with harder things to hatch like ducks and turkeys. But I am going to do chicken eggs this time. Are they easier to hatch than ducks and turkeys??

I have never tried ducks and turkeys, please let me know the answer after your experience here.

I can say that they're easier than ducks. Don't know about turkeys. Probably the easiest thing I have ever hatched were coturnix quail.

Yep. I did that about 2 weeks ago. Right now I'm waiting for it to get to temp. It's holding temp pretty good for something that had a big hole burned in it.

I have hatching fever also, in fact I just checked and it was 99.5 degrees F.

And the countdown begins for my test hatch. Went into lockdown today. Hopefully they all hatch in a timely manner so my duck eggs can go in on time.

I have hens and a rooster right now, so I'll be trying to hatch those. My rooster is a Jersey Giant. My hens are Jersey Giant, Welsummer, and Easter Egger.
