The problem likely has to do with the meat thermometer. Check to see how accurate it is. if it says +\- 3degrees, the it can be off by a bunch. The other problem is the speed of detecting temp change.

It is better to get a thermometer that is made for incubation use.

The problem is with the 4200 w/autoturner.
They leave you no room to place thermometers without losing or jamming in the rack. The water wiggler with the meat probe therm ( that has an alarm set ) has helped me achieve very successful hatches.
I have no problems with them and they are closest to my calibrated therm which I believe over the built-ins any day!

Anyone think this is a good deal for a styrobator? http://www.farmandfleet.com/product...or-wih-automatic-egg-turner.html#.VQWfgI54pbU

$85 with the shipping (digital, fan, turner).
I am still building my coolerbator and thought these could always be used for hatchers later...
If they hold the temperature well, then yes, I would say it is. When you buy the egg turner and the fan kits separately they can each cost around $50 so a bator with both at that price is great....depending on how well it works...lol

I went ahead an ordered one. It is made by Farm Innovators (I see a lot of folks on here with it and mixed results). I will run it side by side with the hovabator genesis that I have with the same set up (digital, fan, turner) that I paid about $200 for. I am curious how it will do. For a styrobator the genesis has given me great hatch rates so far.

I didn't get my first Pea egg until May first last year.  :/  If I get any earlier than that I will be happy.  So many people on the Pea Forum have been getting eggs it makes the anticipation worse having to wait.

Just got peas last year and waiting on my first pea egg ever. I'm very anxious!

Will my eggs be okay with 65% humidity the first couple of days? I want to set more today, but as of now I still have a few stragglers from my test hatch that need the higher humidity.

Traditional humidity is 60%. they will be fine.

I set 16. Was only allowed to set 10 hehe I'm not counting any roos that hatch, unless it's from my double yolk IF that hatches
