Hi @HappyChooks , I am not worried about the air sac, I am more worried about the weight loss from the day of setting. 2 of them have already lost 14%, 1 is at 12 and 4th one has 10% loss by now. So by lockdown, the situation would be even worse.
The one's in half the eggs have the same type of development as in other eggs and are moving albeit in half the egg (vertically half). Maybe something genetic (from the same hen)
Most of my eggs are doing the half shell thing. Mine lay on their side. Embryos stay on that side, even if it's not on the lowest point (does that make sense?). I think I've seen it in previous hatches, but I have a brighter light now and I'm seeing things that I couldn't see before, so I'm not sure. These eggs are from my hens and a friends. Not the same breeds. Hers are pure and mixed, so certainly not genetic. We don't feed the same feed or live too close to each other. I dip her eggs in a weak bleach solution before putting them in the bator with my eggs (haven't had any problems doing that). So the only thing in common is my incubator and I had some of the eggs in a second one until day 9 1/2. I'm not going to worry about it. Oh, one more common thing. We had a cold snap during collection time and both our flocks almost stopped laying.
