If anyone is still following my saga and not just scrolling past because I'm so whiney… I came home from being out allll daaaay and I saw that I had two more pips!! And I was like

But then I looked at my numbers… humidity down to 20%

temp up to 101.3

So I was like OH NO! KIDS, GET WATER AND WET PAPER TOWELS! They had them to me in seconds, and I quick opened the bator and threw the wet paper towels over the eggs. Quickly poured more water into the reservoir and shut the bator again. Humidity was back up to 65% in 15 minutes, at which time I removed the paper towels.

Now I'm hoping and praying that those three make it, and more come along behind them. It's going to be a long night. If I get any chicks from this hatch it will be a miracle!

@Nanachicks Welcome to the group!

Even with my fan I keep both open for the duration.
I play a youtube video of "one day old chicks chirping" at the bator when they stop zipping and that gets them going. Honestly-it works for me.

xs 2 and it'll be even quicker now that I had TWO chicks get injured on that dumb fan in there.

I had one that pipped late afternoon Friday and three others hatched before it did. I was worried but left it and in it's own time it hatched late this morning on it's own. As long as temp and humidity are good and there is movement, I would leave it.

The membrane was getting yellow so I was getting worried, so I tried snapping my fingers for 15-20 minutes interrupted by some chicken sound (lol) and it moved but not zipped. Finally when I decided to intervene and had everything ready, my hands on the incubator lid and it starts zipping pretty fast. Was out in 10 minutes or less. Thanks both of you for your advice to refrain!

Hatch Day begins in 35 minutes for me!

However, I have 32 hatched so far out of the 52 that went into lockdown.
One is zipping and 3 others pipped.
4-were put in on the 15th and 4 on the 16th so they will be late anyways. One was dropped and cracked on lockdown so status is unknown.
So that leaves seven questionable eggs.
But I can't keep my head straight anymore and am going to bed.
Next time if I do hatch these many eggs, I will not do multiple similar looking breeds. Its giving me terrible headache even with all the separations.

Suggestions:

I had an egg pip. he stuck his leg out. And just stayed that way for a couple of hours. Went ahead and checked on him and found he had pipped the other side. He was stuck cause of his leg sticking out the other hole. Went ahead and assisted. Just popping off enough for him to finish getting out by himself.

Well, he is out and actively moving, but...his head is curl down to his belly. And he is just laying on his side. He is active and seems fine. Just looks like he can't stand up cause he is off balance from his head be tucked under.

Any suggestion, to help or just leave him be?

Well, he hasn't straightened out. So I have put a cone/bib on him to help keep his chin up.

However, now he just keeps flipping onto his back, even in a teacup or tiny tupperware dish.

Still very active and breathing just fine.

Any suggestions?

It could be wry neck. Sometimes the chin goes down and flopping onto the back is a symptom too.

Ply vi sol without iron, a drop in the morning, noon and night can help with it. It can take a lot of work and a couple of weeks. If the neck does not recover enough for it to eat, then you have to feed it which can involve tube feeding.

I would just leave him. He's probably just needs some time.
