Aww, I love dogs. I love my Golden R's. I'm on my third Golden now, my first female, she is almost 3.
Took this yesterday in our snow!

That is a beautiful dog! I LOVE Golden Retrievers, but because of allergies we have to have poodle mixes. That's why I have Cinnamon, he's a Goldendoodle. He is SOOO sweet!!! He's sitting next to me right now.

Our dogs help keep the chickens safe by barking off coyotes, marking the territory, chasing away any raccoons and they also chase hawks (even hawks up in the sky) which helps a lot.

Cinnamon in his winter coat.

Cinnamon and Cedar (his brother) in their summer haircuts, loving the warmth and a good run

no way I could!!

EVERYONE!!

I had a chick breaking out last night and I "slightly intervened" which I shouldn't have...but I did. It ended up he got stuck by his left wing and back to the shell, and was still waiting patiently for me this morning. Poor little fellow. But of course, that was my bad for having interfered. I'm not as strong as you Ron!!

So I removed the rest of his shell, which wasn't stuck at all and was ready to come off, and carefully removed the stuck part with a very damp Q tip. Here he is...

He had pronounced blood veins and bled a bit where I opened up the membrane last night. Leaving him was the best thing I could do for him because he wasn't ready to hatch yet. But you can see by the bottom picture the little guys previous umbilical opening is good and there was no blood at all this morning. He just needed me to be more patient.

He's in the 'bator right now fluffing up.

IF he/she makes it, he's been a VERY lucky/tough chick. This chick hatched from a tan egg...the ONLY tan egg to make it to the hatch. I had 12 eggs in total and had placed green 4 eggs in the 'bator. This egg was dropped with the rest of the eggs and carton onto the floor and was the only non cracked egg! So I put it in with the four green eggs and hoped for the best.

This is the mom.

I did hear another egg chirping last night but I haven't heard anything today. So I'm "trying" to wait patiently.

Oh boy, you have that..we have this, and it's still dumping. It's supposed to keep coming down until late tonight. We need it! Your photo is beautiful!!

That wasn't my photo, it was off the net for a tailored good morning.

This IS my photo from this morning after I posted, though. Ah, the beauty of frost on the grain bin handle in the morning in WI. :)

So happy it survived the hatch. The best to you and the remainder of your hatch.

You probably don't do bantams..I've had the LF too, they are lovely. I don't have a photo that I can find real quick, but this one I show off a lot. They are so cute..the bantams, and make great moms! At least mine was. I have a friend that had a Faverolle rooster. Man, those guys are just too handsome for their own good! Just beautiful. Love you avvy too! Is he a sweet boy?
She's wonderful! No, I have stuck with large fowl, although, I am thinking maybe I need to expand to some different faverolles varieties, and who says I can't do bantam as well ;) I have to say, my sweetest rooster was a birchen bantam cochin... but I have never had a mean or aggressive faverolles. They just stare at me and then just continue manning the flock. Here are a couple more roosters pictures from my current breeders.
