I dont know if I am qualified to say anything yet as I am only on day 6, but SO FAR (I have plenty of time to have to change my mind) my LG 9200, still air, has held temps and humidity wonderfully. Again, I may end up retracting this later if the temp spikes, but my neighbor has had many sucsessful hatches in this bator. Just wanted to put this out here.

I got my LG 9200 off the local swap shop. Was a still air w/turner and i put a fan in it. The plastic windows on top were wiggly so i used some elmers and glued those babys in. This thing is holding temps great and the humidity stays leveled out too. I have a "test" batch in, only 6, on day 7 and they are doing good. I'm very pleased with my LG

Yes, from what I have read on multiple chicken sites everything holds temp more stable than Lg, esp if it's the 9300.

I should say though the 9200 can be jiggled into perfection as there are several people who get consistant 100% hatch in them,

Thanks honey! Me too but I probably won't until it warms up. It's still cold cold!!! But it'll happen soon and then I can totally be a part of maybe a spring hatch!!!

Hi honey! Good to hear from you! Oh it's ok,sadly,I don't have any broodys setting. I know the eggs are fertile but I also don't have an incubator. Which I'm trying to talk my lovely husband into! We live in a tiny tiny home though with three cats. So idk how it would work out. But God will provide a way!!! Just glad to be here.

I made a styro incubator, I put two light sockets in it (in case one bulb burn out, which it has done already once.) I'm using just 25 watt regular base candelabra bulbs. They work the best in keeping the incubator temps stable in a room I keep about 75. I had tried 40 watts...but I found the temperature was all over the place. My fan blows right across the bulbs too. I'm using a wafer thermostat so it's all on me to keep it steady. I only touched the temperature adjustment once in the last two incubatings,including the one I've got in right now.

Your incubator sounds a bit smaller than mine...mine can hold approximately 37 eggs on the bottom. I thought I'd put this out there in case it can you help you peeps, or anyone on here. It would be too bad if you can't utilize the 'bator you built.

Newly hatched test on fertility went great. Taking orders on hatching eggs for Hatch a long.

So adorable! I love all the colors!

Im getting a little bit worried my 45 eggs wont come in on time to set , my fingers are so far beyond crossed they are blue lol , but if they dont come in ill gather my hens eggs and set those i guess

And then when they come you get to have extra chicks!

It was one year ago today that my first incubated chicks started hatching in my DIY styro coolerbator

Stalking BYC is where i got most of the info i needed to make my own.

Well, I'm getting roughly 2 dozen serama eggs shipped to me and they will be arriving early next week... I'm guessing I won't be eligible to participate anymore if I start hatching them this early?

Maybe I'll just get some more eggs at the end of this month.

My first 4 babies are out on my VERY FIRST hatch ever. I have 7 more have pipped!! They are so cute! They are all mixed breeds from my own flock.

My 10 survivors from eggs cooked at 105f for 2 weeks

I had some chicks survive cooking too. We were so sure they were dead but all four eggs were alive and three of the chicks made it past hatching.

Broody hens can surprise you. I'll bet one will start sooner or later. My silkie just went broody today, actually! Princess's chicks just started perching away from her and she immediately started another family.
