This tragedy with the killed flock has me being supper protective of my birds. We were going to leave the run access open tonight until we could set up a sliding door but not after reading that. I grabbed a big piece of plywood and slid it over the opening. It's only 1' thick and 2'x7' longI think that's heavy enough to to keep critters out.![]()

if its racoons they will reach though the chain link and eat there heads off. I have chain link pens also. I have tops on my kennels (woven baling twine) The fox were going over the 6 foot kennels. even after the I put the tops on kennels I kept finding headless chicken in the coops in the morning. The fox were getting on top the kennels and trying to pull the chickens though the netting off the roosts. had too use a board to peak the netting way above the roosts. So far the chickens have been safe. Those fox are smart little devils....
