The 7th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-A-Long!

Uhoh.. Something is rotten in the state of Arizona

Had an egg-splosion this morning. Apparently I have only 5 eggs developing. Do I leave the others be? One has a bit of goo from the cracked egg

I would gently wipe the goo off the good egg with a very warm towel. If you have any Oxine, I would gently wipe the area with some on a q-tip or paper towel. Then smell the eggs that are left, including the one you cleaned, to make sure there are no more and hope for the best.

Good luck! These aren't Isbars, are they?

Thank you so much! The 2 eggs that I am worried about have a crack in the shell and I can see their beaks, but they haven't done anything different for the past 15 hours. And they don't talk very often, but when they do it is loud and frantic.

They may be glued to the shell if it has been 15 hours. Wrap the egg in a warm wet paper towel (but not covering the pip) and see if this helps. If no progress in an hour then slowly start enlarging the hole.

Hi i cant i cant have roosters in the city! My chickens have ate all my grass in my back yard. I have a dirt back yard.

HELP!!!!

I have a chick that is hatching right now but there is a lot of blood in it looks like it's bum hole is popping out is there anything I can do? Can I cut the cord that is connected to the egg and maybe just put a Band-Aid on it?

Question - is there a setting somewhere to make it put photos/smilies in where the cursor is, not at the top of the page? Most annoying to drag them down, especially with big photos on the screen. Am I missing something?

Weird. Just me, then. OK - trouble shooting....
Whoop!

I switched browsers and it works fine in Google chrome.

OK, note to self, use chrome for BYC.

I see you figured it out by the time I caught-up! I have the same problem with Internet Explorer but no problem when I use Google Chrome.

I agree with Sally...gorgeous eggs and I love the way you shopped what breed each egg is. Very lovely and VERY helpful. I'm thinking of getting Wyandottes. It's nice to see the egg they lay.:yiipchick

It's futile to resist.  I totally gave into the powers of the chicken. :gig
(Good thing I'm not a spy)

How is Vick liking his new home? He's a nice looking fellow. I have one that looks just like Vick, she came as a pair with her sister. I am somewhat new to lops/mini lops....but I'm really liking their temperament and personalities.

Really glad to see you're back! Missed seeing you on here. :hugs

Local...how do you get your chicks to pose for you SO nicely?? They look like they're workin'  the runway!:gig
I'm pretty sure any chick of mine would take a leap off the bator and that would be it.
(my bator's on the washing machine...no, no, not on MY washing machine)
:gig
Awesome pics and such cutie chicks!!  Glad to see you back too! :hugs

Do I understand the pics correctly....is it an aquarium you made your 'bator in?

Brownies.

I saw you received help with this in another thread, so you are all set now, correct?
