The 7th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-A-Long!

Ya we grow corn, potatoes, and all kinds of peas. I just do the pumpkins and sunflowers. Those are very pretty kernels, how do they taste?

I haven't tried them yet, but heard they taste good as popcorn and are also good for cornmeal.

I have been trying to decide what kind of pumpkins to grow this year, do you know any kinds that have nice orange flesh?

... But ya I heard you can eat the eggs after deworming, but I wonder what effects it does with incubating the eggs.

You are right Nate- incubation is another risk: I just wormed my flock (it was a very mild winter) and was warned not to incubate eggs until at least a few weeks (or as long as possible) after Wazine. Someone on another thread had used Wazine and had a terrible, awful hatch experience. Just wanted to let everyone know about that.

I decided, after doing the math and the projected income, emu just aren't in my cards :( eventually we plan on buying the pasture near our house and if we do, I plan on refencing it with 6 foot fence, and then emu would have a bunch of space to run. We kind of have the space now... but it would mean turning almost our whole yard into a emu run since I would want it 150 feet or more. Oh well. I can still dream about it!

I also had a chance to get 2 trios of silver pheasants, a trio of red golden, and another pair of yellow golden, and 6 other males... and decided it too wasn't a profitable purchase. Disappointing, but really think it is the right choice.

Sigggggghhhhhhhhhhhh.

Darn you reasonable thinking!
