It's so fun watching those little beaks peck against the egg knowing that they are trying with all of their might to get OUT OF THAT THING... I made myself walk away and go do other things.

I know! It is hard to walk away, but other chores need to get done..

Thanks. They have been making trouble for us for several months now, but I never thought they would go so far as to steal my hens! They have no direct access to their property from the road and use an easement on our property to access theirs. DH says we should fence it off and make the find a different route. (There are other areas clear enough for a driveway that aren't on our property.

Check with local laws first. An easement can't legally be fenced if it is in the property description. See if u can get a plat map of their property, it should have a defined easement marked on it. THEN you can fence that baby off without legal problems.

Yes I know. My lazy babies enjoying the new digs... Oh and another just zipped!!! 2 more going crazy trying to zip.

Newest babies. These are 2 day old isabelle leghorn X dark brown leghorn splits. There are several Isbars in the mix too. Got the incubator heating up for a bunch more isbar eggs. My blue copper marans are laying too now and I'm anxious to see the results from the new roo. Still on the pre hatch along test runs!

Ur gonna "test hatch" all ur new coops full and won't have room for any HAL babies. lol

Well out of 88 eggs going into lock down I have 31 chicks already and more coming. Already had 37 and have 8 dz going in on the 14th lots of activity here will post a fuzzy butt photo in a bit

Ok... Load of cloths in dryer. One in washer. Load of dishes. Kids feed. Oh sudden noise increase = 2 more zips!!!! More future football/soccer players batting around the eggs again. That makes 10... And counting.

Ouch ! Ok, when she gets off in the morning i will proceed to candle my heart out before she gets back. Then again i think it will be easier for me to take about a dozen from around the edge, bring them in, candle and put the ones with life into my already working incubator. Yup, sounds like a plan.

Ok, so she got off the nest this morning and i slid in and took 12 eggs out of the nest. One looked like it had started to develope and then froze and split. In the field with it. The others i brought in and candled. Most were clear so in the field with those. One had a bit of a blood ring so out that went. 2 showed signs of development but no movement so i stuck those in my bator and will wait till tomorrow and candle again, if no movement then , in the field, with those as well. She has about 10 or so left and more than likely only a couple are even fertile but she should be able to cover them anyway. I will slip in again in a couple days and candle what's left and leave any that are good but don't want her wasting her time for no reward.
