'Some breeders'... and she is mistaken, methinks...

I was very fortunate in that the breeder I recieve eggs from a couple years ago told me that if I did not have at least 50% fertility he would send me more if I paid shipping. Fertility not hatching. 6 out of 12 hatched.

That's a good breeder/seller... I give that same guarantee... viability and hatchability after shipping is one thing, fertility is another...

Even if they are clear, with shipped eggs sometimes even if they were fertile they are too damAged to grow so will remain "clears" the only way to check is to gently crack them open and look for the bullseye or spot.

Except hers weren't shipped... she got them local pickup... and checked for fertility... :/

Awwww what is he/she? Looks just like my self blue oegb did at hatch last year. beautiful!

Today is day 9 for my HAL eggs. Should I wait to candle them on day 15 now? I am worried about disturbing them during crucial development.

Hopefully will have chicks in the hatching tray when I get home from work from my stagger just before the Hal. Shipped of 4 different breeds and Grey eggs from @gimmie birdies Greyslyn eggs!!

These expensive Orust chicken eggs are killing me mentally. Usually I don't check my bator to often. But now I'm checking it every chance I get. If I'm not home I call my girlfriend. First thing she says is I miss you I say did you check the incubator. I think this will be my only rare breed purchase from eBay. I can't handle the stress. The good news is 8 of the ten I set have great cells and veins. Two are clear but I haven't taken them out cause its hard to throw away a13 dollar egg. Set March 3 so I only have about 10 more days of this madness. I'm up at night thinking what if I get all roosters. Oh I'm Stressed!!!!

Any good breeder should be checking their fertility before sending eggs out. Now the damage that occurs in shipping is not their fault.

I do the same even with my own eggs. Excellent start to shipped eggs.

Woo! My salmon faverolle is running around the brooder this morning strong and happy. Can't take a picture because I am away on spring break. If this chick is a girl, it's name is Nancy after my pet sitter that got Nancy the chick out of its shell and saved it's life. Love watching my webcam with happy little chicks running around

The greys are in the back of the hatching tray. I will try to get a pic tonight when i get off work. Not sure any are going to hatch this time around, I am still hoping. If not I will try again soon!

at 11:30 am today my official 10th day will of started. I am telling myself not to candle again until day 13 and then 18. I candles on day 7 but.... ITS JUST SO HARD

I did peak at a few that had ??s on them. I'm glad I didn't pull them. Several I looked at this morning look to be developing.
