The 7th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-A-Long!

:weee  First eggs are always fun....no matter how many times it happens...the first ones from each pullet are so exciting!

Very true!! These are our first chickens, we got them October so these girls I think are pretty early! Hatched October 26th. They're pets and our first ever chickens so its even more exciting! I put them in a jumbo container, they are TINY lol

Today is day 17 for me. This is my first time incubating eggs. I set 12 and have 6 going strong. I would've only had 2 quitters and 10 going strong but I messed up their humidity. I added too much water, right before I went to bed and forgot to check on them until around 11 the next morning. The humidity had been at 70 all that time. It killed four of my babies. I'm thankful I still have 6 going strong! Air cells are growing and they have nice strong blood vessels. Tomorrow is lockdown!!!

Good luck on your lock down. We will be seeing new Easter Hatch A Long babies before we know it!

Wow guys. Is it already only a day or so away from lockdown?!
Now here is my question. I've started lockdown at the beginning and end of day 18 before. What do you do?? With my being sick I'm handling as little as possible.

Found another egg!! Color's pretty washed out in the pictures but it's light brown like the store ones. Well maybe a bit lighter. Can't believe there's another already! They're both tiny LOL they'll get bigger though, it's cause they're just starting. Still exciting though.

Whoot! Your egg carton will be full before you know it!
