The 8th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!!!!

one of my girls gave me this today, I'm going to try and hatch it, yes it's a double yolker. I candled it, so anyone ever hatch a double before? The squares are one inch for reference.

A few months ago some twin dux hatched, only one lived tho (post 215 they hatched) https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/1145328/2-embryo-in-1-egg-please-look-at-picture Someone else hatched twins recently too, again only one lived, but I've seen a youtube video where both twins successfully hatched so it can be done.

Aww..cute!  Bet that incubator won't sit for a few  yrs. on the shelf from now on!  Good luck with the duck eggs..my favorite duck BTW!

Yeah! It's going to be put to use now for sure!

Congratulations on your new chicks :woot
Good luck with the ducks next week, I hope you have a great hatch :fl

I would love to know your secret on getting a new incubator and not using it? I'm not sure I could resist temptation :gig
:woot Good luck everyone!

When I got it I was dual enrolled in college, I didn't even think about hatching haha. But now, I'm addicted!

Hello all!
I am looking forward to this years EASTER HATCH A LONG. I will not be quite as enthusiastic with my number of eggs set this year LOL!! Last year it was over 100. I am not quite sure what breeds it will be, but I am pretty sure there will be some Silkied Ameracauna to check my fertility! I might even do a few ducks and if the Turkeys keep laying a couple of those too. Oh can't forget the quail. We will see if I come up with shipped eggs too. Not sure I will be able to catch up on the entire thread but will give it a try.
