The 8th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!!!!

I will give it a try. what do you mean by no go during the second week?

I've had a couple that I went ahead and tried. First one didn't make it into the second week. The second one had me excited until the middle of the second week, then, they quit. No go.

Hello all!
I am looking forward to this years EASTER HATCH A LONG. I will not be quite as enthusiastic with my number of eggs set this year LOL!! Last year it was over 100. I am not quite sure what breeds it will be, but I am pretty sure there will be some Silkied Ameracauna to check my fertility! I might even do a few ducks and if the Turkeys keep laying a couple of those too. Oh can't forget the quail. We will see if I come up with shipped eggs too. Not sure I will be able to catch up on the entire thread but will give it a try.

Thanks for the WELCOME, I'm excited to be HERE.

Hubby wants to order a NEW bator so THIS is a GOOD reason to try it out. Right now we have a small (7 egg capacity) that was a gift but it has only hatched 1 egg out of 3 attempts. I MADE a mini fridge incubator but had a problem with the only batch I set in it, may try it again. We're getting 2-3 dozen eggs a day from our flock but also have a couple of broody hens.

one of my girls gave me this today, I'm going to try and hatch it, yes it's a double yolker. I candled it, so anyone ever hatch a double before? The squares are one inch for reference.
I've never given them a go and just not set any that look to be doubles. Good luck with it :fl
Yeah! It's going to be put to use now for sure! When I got it I was dual enrolled in college, I didn't even think about hatching haha. But now, I'm addicted!
Addicted :woot
