Call duck eggs don't do well upright, Dan... other duck eggs are fine, but if you can hand turn several times a day I've seen slightly better hatches with them laying on their sides...

Calls in upright turners are what I don't recommend...

Yep! I have some on day 23 right now.


Ducks are fun, I like them better than chickens, yep they can be messy.

The mess would drive me crazy, I like things tidy. Good luck with the eggs on day 23

York, just get a few ducks.... They aren't bad then. I have a watering solution that's practically free... I can share it, if you wish?

I currently have a 1-legged WH in my basement.... Love that girl to bits.

I'm afraid I can't just get right now. Avian flu restrictions are in place here so no bird movement at the moment. The watering solution sound good though!

Me too.  Someday I'll hatch some.  I really am in love with the call ducks, but geezzzzz, they are loud!

Yes they are lovely but I'm not sure how they would go down with my neighbors! I already have chickens that are very chatty and even a couple that scream for attention

Debating whether or not i should join...depends if my 13 eggs in the incubator hatch before the 25th...its either i hatch with this hatch-along or i just set more eggs without a excuse, so i think im in!

Once you have set your eggs just post here on the thread with the number set and it can be added to the list. You can certainly post your candle updates and anything else you would like to say about your hatch and how it's going. Ask questions, help others with their questions and have fun. I'm sure you will make lots of friends along the way
