Glaseria - hatching is addictive! It never gets old! Good luck on your ducks!

Thank you! :thumbsup
I currently have two batches going, 104 quail in the Old DI Hovabator and 27 duck eggs in the New Incuview. And I'm upset it wasn't big enough to set all 29 duck eggs I had collected all last week for the EHAL! :lau
Oh we've got it bad! We're already looking into getting a third incubator but this time have it be a cabnet so we can handle a higher quantity of eggs! :jumpy

I have like 20 pages to read and catch up on! I'm taking an A&P course and it's so much work. Plus, I wasted ALL of the day on Friday waiting for chicks to arrive at a grain store an hour from my house. Long story, but the main point is the postal service completely sucks at delivering chicks. Anyway, out of my first hatch attempt of 3 RIR eggs, I had one early quitter, one failure to pip egg death, and one cute little chick! She was lonely so I had to get her a friend, or 3! Now I've got the RIR, a Silver Laced Red Wyandotte, A Blue Cochin, and a Speckled Sussex in the brooder. I am using an "electric hen" (I hate that term) for the first time. I always used a heat lamp in the past, but I feel like this is a little more natural for them. The SLRW cheeps a lot. The loud, sad cheeping. What can I do to cheer her up? Here's Munckin, the Cochin. :love Ok... off to catch up on the conversation! I missed you guys all weekend!
In my experience really loud cheeping means they are cold. Watch for pasty butt too.

Ok, you all have got me started LOL I am given in to the addiction

Washing all shelves and egg trays. All clean

Dickie holds 6 of these. chicken math is really tough 4 dozen time 6 trays equals 288 holes

PS had 2 Turkey eggs for breakfast. Very good by th way. And guess what both were fertile. Tom has been gone since February 26th. that is 21 days....Going to set them when I get 6 eggs. Have 2 already......

I have no duck eggs =( 4 grown but evidently immature chocolate muscovy.

But grats to those of you that are setting and happy hatching! =)

I have 10 of those mix eggs I got that were a mess when I got them. I am sure that 9 are alive, one questionable..thought I saw movement, but if so, it's way behind..set it anyway for lock down.
Now we will see what happens..day 20...6 of them have very large air sacs up the side. Big eggs though, so they may hatch ok.
