Finally back where I can post. I took a trip to Mobile yesterday to go tour the USS Alabama. I didn't get that chance as a kid. This morning the power was out when I woke up. It was off for roughly 7 hours but the temp didn't go below 80.

Just wanted to update that we went from 5 to 4 eggs- one was not fertile when we candled

I hope you get at least two eggs to hatch...One chick in a hatch is so lonely...

Had my first Call Duck chick arrival earlier today, my 3 year old son is over the moon, having probs uploading photos so will do tomorrow

Will they have trouble hatching? A lot of my eggs are coming from last springs hatchlings.

I had hatchlings from last years chicks no problems with them

My eggs seem to be doing well and I have 3 broodies and I candled their eggs tonight and the one is well on her way.

The good news: so far I have only pulled 3 infertiles! That brings my total to 69 still going.

The bad news: I lost one of my color project birds last night thankfully I have 7 eggs developing normally from that pen, but it still stinks to lose one.

I put 35 eggs in the incubator for the hatch-a-long. Now I have a question, is it necessary to candle and when is the best time to candle?
