The 8th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!!!!

HELP! The humidity in my Brinsea Mini is at 45-50% and I'm told that is too high. There is barely a coating of water on one side of the reservoir. I think it's just humid in my house because we've gotten so much rain. Should I remove ALL the water from the bator reservoir? Or should I just let things be?? It's Day 13, in case that is relevant!

Thank you!

Good advice so far.

45-50% is in the safe zone for incubation.

A small room and a de humidifier would lower the humidity but remember, the humidity averages over the 18 days of incubation before lockdown. It may well be less humid later for your place.

Watch the air cells and do not panic!

Candle Day. We have candled one location so far today, started with 38 eggs, ended with 24 in the incubator. I will candle one more time before lock-down.

I will edit this post to include other location later.. Cheers!

This egg is a Bantam Salmon Faverolle.
I want Bantam Salmon Faverolles!!!! My big girls are my favorite. Are they your own eggs?

The Arboretum is beautiful. My son is considering Davis for college, so we'll be scheduling a visit soon.
UC Davis has an improvement project started to improve the Arboretum. The first stage is getting the water to recirculate. Currently it is a stagnate pond that has bad algae blooms. The next phase is to improve the walkways. When it is finished, the paths will be handicapped accessable

Happy Spring everyone! I set 30 eggs for the Easter Hatch...my 1st time hatching. Going to candle them soon.

As an undergrad, I was a Botany major and considered transferring to UC Davis (The Farm) and actually visited the campus. They had a lot of interesting things going on with hydroponics back then. That was nearly 40 years ago.
UC Davis started as the UC Berkeley Farm. It is the Aggies now. Did you see the Men's Basket ball team at the first round of March Madness?

I knew UC Davis was paired with Kansas, but I didn't watch the game. Usually the #1-to-#16 pairings in the first round are very one-sided, so I skip them. However, I like to follow the Cinderella teams and enjoyed seeing Xavier make a good run.

As for my visit to UC Davis, I remember it seemed like everyone there was on a 10-speed. I had never seen so many bicycles on a college campus in my life. lol That was a long time ago though, so things may have changed.
